Doing nothing? Yes Please!

I think that this was the 1st weekend since the New Year we haven't had any plans!  No place we had to be at a certain time, no place to go, nothing we HAD to do!  It was pretty much amazing!

Friday night we were able to catch up with good friends.  The Blatchford's came up from Omaha with their new baby Sophia and the Olander's came over with their little girl Molly.  We sat around feeding the kids full of sugar and watching them play.  I laughed and thought, "Man how have times changed."  If this was 5 years ago we would be getting all fancied up to head to the bar.  Staying out way too late and being worthless the next day.  It was fun, don't get me wrong, but as I sat looking around at all the people I love, I realized that my life has changed for the better!  We now have more to live for than a good time.  We have these perfect little beings that rely on us for everything!  We need to be our best for them!!!

Beau playing with the boys...Did I mention we all hung out in our jammies??!!!

Saturday was pretty uneventful.  My sister stopped on her way back from Sioux Falls.  I am so blessed that she is in my life again!  I met her (and her twin) when I was 18.  We were really close for a long time and then she got married to a guy who did not like us.  We were "stuck up" and he liked being in control.  I know what she's going through is hard, but I am so thankful I can be there for her & that I am a part of her life again!

Then later in the afternoon my bowling buddy Ann stopped with her daughter who was born a few days after Blake!  It was so fun to watch the kids interact and catching up with her. She's definitely on my list of people I need to see more!!!

Saturday night we played with the boys then spent some quality time together when they went to bed.  By quality time I mean watching DVR'd Ellen and Up All Nights and putting together church directories!  It was still fun to do NOTHING but menial, mindless tasks!

This morning we went to church.  Our Ash Wednesday was moved to Thursday because our pastor and his wife were at Mayo.  Thursday there was bad weather so it was cancelled....So we had the Ash Wednesday service today.  The boys got ashes for the first time.  Later in the service I looked over and Cole had a black crayon and was trying to draw a cross on Hunter's head :)

We went down to Vera's and had Turkey, stuffing, potatoes and gravy with her and Aaron's family.  Rod's Birthday would have been this last Friday.  We usually have a steak dinner but because of the weather, we decided to wait.  It was a good day!

We came home & I took a 2 hour nap with the boys and Beau went out and worked with the horses.  He was able to get Starlight completely saddled up and foot in the stirrups and she did great!  She has been saddled up once last October and has never been ridden.

On the calendar for this week: Working my 2nd week as a full time employee then my parents are coming up on Saturday!  YAAAAYYYY!
